MEET OUR TEACHERS

  • Mekenzie Sprague

    DIRECTOR

Hi, I’m Mekenzie Sprague, and I’m the proud owner of Local Motion. I grew up dancing here and have loved it for as long as I can remember. After dancing on the Bingham Drill Team, I knew I wanted to come back to the place that shaped me and help create that same experience for others. What I love most about Local Motion is the environment—the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel the love, support, and energy. I’m passionate about building a space where dancers not only grow as artists but also create lifelong friendships and memories they’ll carry forever.

I grew up training at Local Motion from age 3 to 14 and feel blessed to have learned from amazing teachers and mentors who helped shape me into the teacher I am today. When I am not teaching, I am playing taxi to my kids' dance schedules and activities. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 18 years, and he might be the best dance dad around, always supporting me, my girls, and our love of dance.

Amy has been teaching dance and setting choreography for 16+ years. • Haylee Harmon

    INSTRUCTOR

My name is Haylee Harmon. I started dancing when I was 3 years old at Local Motion Dance Studio. I trained there until high-school when I joined the West Jordan Dance Company, where I choreographed and performed many routines. After graduating high school in 2017, I was on the Utah Tech Dance Team for a year. During my time on the Utah Tech dance team, we had many travel opportunities to perform at the boys basketball team games and was a part of an Alex Boye music video. Following that year, I moved home and started teaching at studio 56 dance center, where I was at for 5 years. I am now entering my 4th year at  local motion dance studio and I couldn’t be more happy to be back at my second home, teaching. LoMo FOREVER!!!!

  • Brooke Odell

    INSTRUCTOR

Miss Brooke’s dance life started at Local Motion Dance Studio when she wasn’t quite three years old.  She loved dance but never imagined it would lead past her time on Bingham’s dance company to a lifelong obsession.  One semester of college at Brigham Young University-Idaho without dance was all it took for her to realize how much she loved and needed movement in her life and she obtained a BA in Dance with a minor in child development.  Brooke was swept off her feet by a dashing Latin dancer and they now have four amazing children. She is living her best life dancing; in the rain, in the kitchen with her family, in her garden, and now is right back at Local Motion where it all started.  Brooke has also previously choreographed for West Jordan’s youth theater program.  She is trained in tap, jazz, ballet, modern, contemporary, and even a little ballroom.
